Why Coal Creek?
Nestled in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Coal Creek Canyon is a scenic wonderland. Resident elevations range from 7,000 to 9,000 feet above sea level and afford a range of seasonal opportunities for hiking, cycling, and skiing at nearby Eldora Ski Resort.
Wildlife sightings persist throughout the year. Meadowlarks welcome visitors and residents into the canyon. Additional local fauna include the mountain bluebird, red tailed hawk, ptarmigan, mule deer, red fox, black bear, coyote, and the occasional report of a mountain lion sighting.
This close-knit community thrives in this delightful, peaceful setting. All the attractions of the Denver metro area are less than a one hour drive away.
